Play For Success

The primary focus of childhood is development – physical, social, cognitive and emotional. We use playful activities to help children in this process.

Direct Instruction

Small group times allow us the opportunity to give one on one instruction and support.

Social Skills Support

We help by supporting positive and purposeful play experiences within a small group of peers and peer models.

Meet our Teachers

Our co-teachers and support aides are highly qualified and dedicated professionals who are passionate about early education. Our  teachers have years of experience in the field and regularly attend conferences and workshops to stay up with current trends. They are both members of NAEYC, CAEYC and SCAEYC (National, State and County “Association for the Education of Young Children”).

At Peek-A-Boo Playhouse, we honor all children as teachers and all teachers as learners. This relationship allows us to provide support for children as we co-create the curriculum. Relying on our knowledge of child development and by working in collaboration, we carefully design the curriculum to meet the needs of each individual child as well as the group. Celebrating their strengths and designing activities that support the development of the whole child.

Who we are ... What we believe...

Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment." ~ Maria Montessori

IMAG2912Peek-A-Boo Playhouse is a home-based community preschool serving children 2 to 5 years old.  Since 1990 we have been successfully helping toddlers and young preschoolers transition from home to school readiness. We offer  a warm, rich, nurturing, and safe learning environment to to those from Rohnert Park and the surrounding communities. We are small enough to provide individual attention to your child and large enough to foster the development of social skills that are so important to your child’s readiness for kindergarten and happiness in life.

  • Our Goal is to ensure that every child is seen, heard, and accepted as a unique and complex individual.
  • Our groups are mixed-age, and always mixed-ability.
  • Our theory of inclusion, includes the notion that children have rights.  They have the right to express themselves, to get their needs met and to be treated with dignity and respect.
  • We believe that play is an important and necessary part of a child’s cognitive development.
  • Our teachers act primarily as observers and facilitators. They encourage the children to engage in understanding the world around them through hands-on activities, direct instruction, art, literacy and imaginative play.
  • The teachers further the children’s learning through direct conversation and open-ended questions.
  • We believe that  by providing a safe and loving environment our children will grow into self-sufficient, caring individuals and productive members of our society.
